Remote Senior Exploration Geologist

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Senior Exploration Geologist to join their international exploration team. This position is fully remote, allowing you to contribute from anywhere within the UK. You will be instrumental in identifying, evaluating, and de-risking new exploration opportunities globally, focusing on the interpretation of geological and geophysical data to generate and mature drillable prospects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of regional geology, basin analysis, and prospect generation techniques, working collaboratively with a virtual team of geoscientists and engineers to drive exploration success.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret geological and geophysical data (seismic, well logs, core data) to define exploration plays and prospects.
• Conduct detailed basin analysis, regional geological studies, and play fairway mapping.
• Perform prospect risking, volumetric assessment, and economic evaluations for new ventures.
• Utilize advanced geological software for data integration, modeling, and visualization.
• Collaborate effectively with a remote, multidisciplinary team of geoscientists and engineers.
• Prepare high-quality technical reports, presentations, and exploration recommendations.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Geology or a related geoscience discipline.
• A minimum of 9 years of experience in exploration geology, with a proven track record of successful prospect generation.
• Extensive experience in basin analysis, structural geology, sedimentology, and sequence stratigraphy.
• Proficiency with industry-standard exploration software packages (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite, DecisionSpace).
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively in a remote setting .
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
