About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their team on a fully remote basis, supporting operations primarily in Sheffield and other global sites. This role is critical for driving innovation and efficiency in manufacturing processes through remote collaboration and advanced engineering solutions. You will work closely with site-based teams to design, implement, and optimize production systems, focusing on areas such as automation, process control, and product quality. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, an excellent communicator, and proficient in leveraging technology to overcome geographical barriers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement advanced manufacturing processes and systems, with a focus on automation and efficiency, for various global sites.
- Provide remote technical support and guidance to on-site manufacturing teams for process troubleshooting and optimization.
- Lead projects focused on improving product quality, reducing costs, and increasing production throughput.
- Develop and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best practices for manufacturing operations.
- Collaborate with R&D and design engineering teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
- Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and implement data-driven solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering , with a strong background in process design, automation, and continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a remote and collaborative environment, utilizing virtual communication tools.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software, simulation tools, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor and influence teams across different locations.
