Remote Senior Metallurgist - Mineral Processing

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly qualified Remote Senior Metallurgist with expertise in mineral processing to join their advanced technical services team. This is a fully remote role, allowing you to leverage your specialist knowledge without geographic constraints. You will be instrumental in developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting mineral processing circuits for various commodities. Your responsibilities will include process simulation, laboratory analysis interpretation, and providing expert guidance to operational sites worldwide. This position is ideal for an experienced metallurgist passionate about improving recovery rates and process efficiency through remote expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize mineral processing flowsheet designs to maximize metal recovery and product quality.
• Analyze metallurgical test results and plant operational data to identify areas for improvement.
• Conduct process simulations and modelling to predict performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Provide remote technical support and expert advice to plant operators and engineers on processing challenges.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for stakeholders.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in mineral processing.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in mineral processing, with a strong track record in process optimization.
• Expertise in comminution, flotation, leaching, or other relevant processing techniques.
• Proficiency in metallurgical simulation software (e.g., HSC Chemistry, JKSimMet).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Strong communication and reporting skills for effective virtual collaboration.
