About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Senior Mining Data Analyst to join their expanding team in a fully remote capacity. This role is instrumental in extracting, analyzing, and interpreting complex datasets from various mining operations to provide actionable insights that drive efficiency, optimize resource extraction, and improve decision-making. You will work with large volumes of data related to production, geology, equipment performance, and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analytics, proficiency with relevant tools, and a solid understanding of the mining industry's unique challenges and data requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and transform large, complex datasets from diverse mining sources.
• Develop and implement advanced analytical models and algorithms to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
• Create compelling visualizations and dashboards (e.g., using Tableau, Power BI) to communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Provide data-driven recommendations to improve operational efficiency, cost reduction, and resource recovery.
• Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and operations managers to define data requirements and analytical objectives.
• Stay abreast of emerging data analytics technologies and their application within the mining sector.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mining Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis, with significant exposure to the mining or resources industry.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation and analysis.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and statistical modeling techniques.
• Strong understanding of mining operations, geological data, and operational metrics.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work autonomously.
