Remote Senior Subsurface Geologist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Subsurface Geologist to join their fully remote team. This role is essential for evaluating and characterizing subsurface assets, providing critical geological insights to support exploration and production strategies. You will work with diverse datasets, including seismic, well logs, and core data, to build robust geological models and assess potential resource opportunities. Collaborating with reservoir engineers and geophysicists, you will contribute to informed decision-making and the successful execution of energy projects globally. Key Responsibilities

• Interpret seismic data, well logs, and core data to delineate geological structures and stratigraphy.
• Develop and maintain detailed 3D geological models to define reservoir architecture and properties.
• Perform basin analysis and prospectivity assessments for exploration opportunities.
• Integrate geological models with reservoir engineering and production data to optimize field development and production.
• Conduct detailed sedimentological and petrographic analyses of core samples.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for management and project teams.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Geology, Geophysics, or a related earth science discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in subsurface geology, with a focus on exploration and field development.
• Strong proficiency in geological interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, GeoGraphix) and data analysis techniques.
• Expertise in structural geology, sequence stratigraphy, and sedimentology.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and remote working skills.
• Experience with international projects or diverse geological settings is a plus for this role.
