Remote Senior Technical Animator

About the Role

In this role, you will bridge the gap between artistic animation and game engine implementation, focusing on creating robust, efficient, and high-quality character and object movements. You will collaborate closely with animators, riggers, and gameplay engineers to bring dynamic characters and elements to life within the game engine, ensuring smooth performance and visual fidelity across all platforms. Key Responsibilities

• Implement and optimize character and object animations within the game engine (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity).
• Develop and maintain animation systems, tools, and workflows for efficient production.
• Collaborate with animators and riggers to ensure animations are performant and aesthetically pleasing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to animation implementation and playback.
• Work with gameplay engineers to integrate animations seamlessly into game mechanics.
• Contribute to the development of animation best practices and standards for the team.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Technical Animator or similar role in game development.
• Proficiency with game engines (Unreal Engine, Unity) and their animation tools.
• Strong understanding of animation principles, rigging, and skinning techniques.
• Scripting skills (e.g., Python, C#) for tool development and pipeline automation.
• Experience with version control systems and agile development methodologies.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, essential for remote collaboration.
