About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly qualified Remote Soil Scientist to provide expert analysis and recommendations for agricultural land management, supporting clients across the UK, with a focus on the Plymouth region. In this fully remote role, you will play a crucial part in assessing soil health, nutrient levels, and environmental impact, advising on best practices for sustainable land use and agricultural productivity. You will leverage advanced analytical tools and your deep understanding of soil science to help clients optimize their soil resources, minimize environmental degradation, and improve crop performance. This position offers the chance to contribute significantly to environmental stewardship and agricultural sustainability from a remote location.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct remote analysis of soil data, including chemical, physical, and biological properties.
- Provide expert recommendations on soil fertility management, fertilization strategies, and nutrient application.
- Assess soil erosion risks and develop strategies for soil conservation and land reclamation.
- Advise on the impact of agricultural practices on soil health and environmental quality.
- Interpret and report on soil testing results for a diverse range of agricultural and environmental applications.
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in Soil Science, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
- Proven experience in soil analysis, interpretation, and recommendation development, preferably with a focus on agriculture.
- Familiarity with soil sampling techniques and laboratory analysis procedures.
- Ability to interpret complex datasets and communicate findings effectively to diverse audiences remotely.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainable land management practices.
