Remote Sports Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytically minded Remote Sports Analyst to join their dynamic team, working remotely from Southampton . This role involves collecting, processing, and interpreting vast amounts of sports data to provide actionable insights for performance improvement, strategic decision-making, and content creation. You will work closely with coaches, performance staff, and media teams, translating complex data into clear, concise reports and recommendations. The ideal candidate possesses a strong statistical background, a deep understanding of various sports, and a passion for leveraging data to gain a competitive edge.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and organize sports performance data from various sources.
• Analyze player and team statistics to identify trends, strengths, and weaknesses.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to coaches and performance staff.
• Assist in the creation of content and narratives based on data analysis for media and marketing purposes.
• Stay abreast of new analytical techniques and technologies in sports data science.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Sports Analyst or in a data analysis role within the sports industry.
• Strong understanding of statistical analysis, data modeling, and data visualization techniques.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Tableau).
• In-depth knowledge of at least one major sport and its associated metrics.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex findings clearly.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Sports Science, or a related quantitative field.
