Remote Sports Community Engagement Lead

About the Role

Our client is seeking a passionate and strategic Remote Sports Community Engagement Lead to foster meaningful connections and drive participation in sports programs across diverse communities. This is a critical, fully remote role that requires an individual adept at building relationships, developing inclusive initiatives, and leveraging digital platforms to connect with target audiences. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing strategies that increase sports engagement, promote healthy lifestyles, and build a strong sense of community through sport, working collaboratively with local organizations and volunteers. The successful candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, a deep understanding of community dynamics, and a proven ability to execute impactful engagement campaigns from a distance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement innovative community engagement strategies to increase participation in sports programs, with a focus on underrepresented groups.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, local authorities, sports clubs, schools, and non-profit organizations.
• Develop and manage digital communication channels, including social media, newsletters, and online forums, to inform and engage the community.
• Organize and promote virtual and in-person (where appropriate and safe) community sports events, workshops, and awareness campaigns.
• Collaborate with program delivery teams to ensure engagement strategies align with program goals and participant needs.
• Monitor, evaluate, and report on the effectiveness of community engagement initiatives, using data to inform future strategies.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years' experience in community development, engagement, or a related field, preferably within the sports or non-profit sector.
• Demonstrated success in building and nurturing relationships with diverse community stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of digital communication tools and social media platforms for community outreach.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to connect with people from various backgrounds.
• Experience in developing and implementing strategic engagement plans.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects effectively in a fully remote setting.
