About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly analytical and data-driven Remote Sports Performance Analyst to support elite athletic teams and organizations remotely, with a particular focus on assisting clients in the Plymouth area and surrounding regions. This role involves collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex performance data from various sources to provide actionable insights that enhance training, strategy, and athlete development. You will work closely with coaches and athletes to identify key performance indicators, evaluate effectiveness of training regimes, and present findings in clear, concise reports and visualizations, contributing significantly to competitive success through advanced data analytics, all executed from a remote location.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and manage performance data from training sessions, competitions, and wearable technology.
- Utilize statistical software and analytical tools to analyze athlete and team performance metrics.
- Identify trends, patterns, and key insights related to performance, tactics, and conditioning.
- Develop detailed performance reports and visualizations for coaches and athletes, explaining complex data in an understandable format.
- Collaborate with coaching staff to integrate performance data into training plans and game strategies.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in sports science, data analytics, and performance technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Sports Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a sports performance analyst, preferably within professional or elite sports.
- Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., R, Python, SPSS) and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Strong understanding of sports biomechanics, physiology, and training principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively in a remote setting.
