Remote Structural Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and motivated Remote Structural Engineer to join their innovative engineering team, supporting projects across the UK, including those located in or near Liverpool . This role is integral to the design and analysis of structural elements for a wide range of construction projects, from residential to commercial. You will work closely with architects, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to develop safe, efficient, and compliant structural solutions. This position offers the unique advantage of full remote work, allowing for a flexible and focused approach to engineering design.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for various building types, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications using CAD and structural analysis software.
• Collaborate effectively with architects, M&E engineers, and other consultants to integrate structural designs.
• Conduct site visits (when necessary and feasible) to assess existing conditions or oversee critical construction elements.
• Review contractor submittals and respond to site queries during the construction phase.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer (MIStructE or MICE) status or working towards it.
• Proven experience in structural design, with proficiency in relevant software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Tekla Structural Designer, AutoCAD).
• Strong understanding of Eurocodes and UK building regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for virtual teamwork.
