About the Role
Our client is seeking a visionary Remote Telecoms Network Architect to spearhead the design and evolution of their complex telecommunications infrastructure. This pivotal role, while fully remote, will set the technical direction for network services supporting clients across the UK, including those in Cambridge . You will be responsible for developing high-level network strategies, defining architectural standards, and guiding the implementation of new technologies to ensure scalability, resilience, and innovation. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with profound expertise in modern networking concepts and a passion for shaping the future of telecoms technology from a remote perspective.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the overall architectural vision and roadmap for the company's telecommunications network.
- Design robust, scalable, and secure network solutions encompassing routing, switching, security, and emerging technologies.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, standards, and vendors to enhance network capabilities.
- Develop architectural guidelines, best practices, and standards for network design and deployment.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and product teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Provide expert technical consultation and guidance on complex network design and implementation challenges.
- Lead proof-of-concept initiatives for new network technologies and architectures.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in telecoms network architecture and design, with a deep understanding of IP networking, MPLS, SD-WAN, and cloud integration.
- Proven ability to design and implement complex, large-scale network solutions.
- Strong knowledge of network security principles, protocols, and best practices.
- Experience with network virtualization and software-defined networking (SDN) concepts.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical strategies to diverse audiences.
