About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a dedicated Remote Telecoms Network Operations Engineer to join their distributed team, supporting operations across Scotland and beyond. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining the health, performance, and availability of our client's vital telecommunications network infrastructure. You will troubleshoot issues, implement configuration changes, and monitor system performance, all while working remotely from your home office. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor network performance and availability using sophisticated monitoring tools.
- Respond to and resolve network incidents and outages in a timely manner.
- Perform routine network maintenance, configuration updates, and patching.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on network upgrades and enhancements.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Provide first-line support for network-related customer inquiries.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in network operations or a related IT support role.
- Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs).
- Basic understanding of routing and switching technologies.
- Experience with network monitoring tools is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote team setting.
