About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Remote Telecoms Network Security Engineer to safeguard their extensive network infrastructure. This position is fully remote, enabling you to work from anywhere in the UK. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security measures to protect our telecommunications systems and sensitive data from evolving cyber threats. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage network security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs.
• Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability testing, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate risks.
• Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards across the telecommunications network.
• Monitor security alerts and incidents, responding effectively to contain and resolve threats.
• Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies relevant to the telecoms industry.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Network Security Engineer , with a strong focus on telecommunications networks.
• In-depth knowledge of network security principles, protocols, and best practices.
• Hands-on experience with security tools such as firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA), IDS/IPS, SIEM systems.
• Understanding of common cyber threats and attack vectors targeting network infrastructure.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a remote work environment.
