Remote Transport Compliance Officer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a meticulous and knowledgeable Remote Transport Compliance Officer to ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements within their extensive transport operations. In this fully remote role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance policies and procedures across the organisation's fleet. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining a safe, legal, and efficient transportation network, minimising risks and potential penalties. You will liaise with internal teams, external regulatory bodies, and conduct audits to uphold the highest standards of compliance, contributing directly to the company's reputation and operational integrity, all from the convenience of your home office.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive transport compliance policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular audits of fleet operations, driver records, and vehicle maintenance to ensure adherence to regulations.
• Stay abreast of all changes in transport legislation (e.g., driver hours, WTD, roadworthiness) and update policies accordingly.
• Investigate compliance breaches and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Manage relationships with regulatory bodies and represent the company during inspections or inquiries.
• Deliver training and awareness programs to operational staff on compliance matters.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Transport Compliance Officer or in a similar regulatory compliance role within the transport sector.
• In-depth knowledge of UK and EU transport legislation, including O-licensing, driver CPC, tachograph regulations, and vehicle standards.
• Experience in conducting compliance audits and developing corrective action plans.
• Excellent analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with various stakeholders remotely.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain a high level of accuracy.
