About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical and organized Remote Transport Operations Planner to join their virtual logistics team, supporting operations across Scotland. In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic planning and optimization of transportation routes and schedules to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of goods. You will leverage advanced software and data analysis to identify opportunities for improvement, manage carrier relationships, and coordinate complex logistical movements. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize daily, weekly, and monthly transport plans and schedules for various delivery networks.
• Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and routing software to create efficient delivery routes.
• Analyze transport data to identify cost-saving opportunities, improve delivery times, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
• Coordinate with internal teams, third-party logistics providers, and drivers to ensure smooth execution of transport plans.
• Monitor shipment progress, proactively identify and resolve potential disruptions or delays.
• Prepare reports on transport performance, costs, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for management review.

Requirements

• Proven experience in transport planning, logistics coordination, or a related operational role.
• Strong knowledge of route optimization techniques and transportation management software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote setting.
