About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly qualified Woodland Ecologist to join their fully remote team, contributing to vital conservation and biodiversity projects across the UK. In this role, you will conduct ecological surveys, analyse habitat data, and provide expert advice on woodland management strategies that enhance biodiversity and ecosystem resilience. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement ecological surveys to assess woodland biodiversity, including flora, fauna, and habitat condition.
- Analyse survey data to identify key ecological features, threats, and conservation opportunities.
- Develop evidence-based recommendations for woodland management, restoration, and species conservation.
- Prepare comprehensive ecological reports, impact assessments, and management plans for clients and stakeholders.
- Stay current with ecological research, legislation, and best practices in woodland conservation.
- Collaborate effectively with a remote team of environmental specialists, sharing expertise and contributing to project success.
Requirements
- A postgraduate degree (MSc or PhD) in Ecology, Conservation Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Significant professional experience in woodland ecology, habitat surveying, and ecological assessment.
- Proficiency in identifying key UK woodland flora and fauna.
- Experience with ecological modeling, data analysis, and report writing.
- Excellent understanding of conservation legislation and woodland management principles.
- Strong remote working capabilities, including self-discipline, excellent communication, and technological proficiency.
