Renewable Energy Developer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Renewable Energy Developer to join their fully remote team, contributing to the expansion of their clean energy portfolio. This role involves identifying, assessing, and securing new opportunities for renewable energy projects, with a strong focus on solar, wind, and battery storage. You will manage the entire development lifecycle, from initial site identification and feasibility studies through to securing permits and final investment decisions. This is a critical role for driving sustainable energy growth, offering the flexibility of a remote-based position anywhere in the UK .

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential sites for new renewable energy projects, assessing technical feasibility and commercial viability.
• Lead the negotiation and acquisition of land rights, grid connection agreements, and other necessary permits.
• Develop comprehensive project proposals, financial models, and business cases for investment.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, local authorities, grid operators, and other key stakeholders.
• Manage the consenting process, ensuring compliance with all planning and environmental regulations.
• Work closely with project finance, engineering, and construction teams to bring projects to financial close and construction readiness.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, or Business.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a proven track record of successfully delivered projects.
• In-depth knowledge of renewable energy technologies (solar, wind, storage), grid connection processes, and UK planning regulations.
• Strong financial modeling, negotiation, and contract management skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities, essential for remote collaboration.
