Renewable Energy Electrical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is at the forefront of the renewable energy sector and is seeking a dynamic Electrical Engineer to join their team in Glasgow . This role operates on a hybrid model , offering a blend of remote work and essential site/office presence. You will play a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for wind, solar, and energy storage projects. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and safety of these renewable energy solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineer electrical systems for renewable energy projects, including PV arrays , wind turbines, and battery storage systems.
• Develop single-line diagrams, protection schemes , and interconnection designs for grid-tied and off-grid applications.
• Perform electrical load calculations, fault current analysis , and equipment sizing.
• Ensure compliance with national and international standards for renewable energy systems (e.g., IEC, IEEE).
• Collaborate with project managers, civil engineers, and external stakeholders on technical aspects of project development.
• Conduct technical reviews of vendor proposals and equipment specifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in the design of electrical systems for renewable energy projects (solar, wind, storage).
• Proficiency with electrical design software and simulation tools (e.g., PVSyst, ETAP).
• Strong knowledge of power electronics, grid interconnection requirements, and energy storage technologies .
• Understanding of relevant safety standards and regulations in the renewable energy industry.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment.
