About the Role
Our client, a forward-thinking developer in the renewable energy sector, is seeking a proactive Renewable Energy Project Developer to join their growing team in Glasgow . This role is central to identifying, assessing, and securing new development opportunities for solar, wind, and other sustainable energy projects across Scotland. You will play a vital part in expanding the company's portfolio and contributing to the UK's clean energy goals. Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate potential sites for new renewable energy projects , including feasibility studies and due diligence.
- Engage with landowners, local authorities, and community stakeholders to secure project rights and consents.
- Develop and manage project business cases, financial models, and investment proposals.
- Coordinate with technical teams, legal advisors, and planning consultants throughout the development lifecycle.
- Negotiate and secure grid connection agreements and power purchase agreements (PPAs).
- Monitor project progress and manage risks to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or Geography.
- Proven experience in project development , preferably within the renewable energy or infrastructure sectors.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies (solar, wind, battery storage) and the UK planning system.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to analyze market trends, financial data, and regulatory frameworks .
- Proficiency in GIS software and project management tools is advantageous.
