About the Role
Our client, a forward-thinking renewable energy company, is looking for a proactive and strategic Renewable Energy Project Developer to join their growing team in Glasgow . This role is crucial for identifying, evaluating, and securing new renewable energy projects, primarily focusing on solar and wind energy development. The hybrid nature of this position allows for collaborative office work and focused remote work, providing flexibility while ensuring strong engagement with project stakeholders. You will be at the forefront of expanding the company's portfolio of clean energy assets, contributing significantly to Scotland's renewable energy targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and assess potential sites for new renewable energy projects, including detailed feasibility studies.
- Develop and manage project pipelines from origination through to financial close and construction.
- Secure land rights, planning permissions, and necessary permits for project development.
- Engage with local communities, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to build support for projects.
- Negotiate power purchase agreements (PPAs) and other key project contracts.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify new development opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a strong understanding of solar and wind technologies.
- Proven track record in securing project sites, planning permissions, and negotiating contracts.
- Excellent understanding of the UK planning system and grid connection processes.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with project finance concepts.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
