Renewable Energy Project Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Renewable Energy Project Manager to oversee the development and execution of innovative renewable energy projects across the Birmingham, West Midlands, UK region. This role is crucial for driving the company's commitment to sustainability and expanding its renewable energy portfolio. You will be responsible for managing all phases of project lifecycles, from initial feasibility studies and permitting through to construction, commissioning, and handover. This is a hands-on, office-based position, requiring strong leadership and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively in a collaborative team setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of renewable energy projects (e.g., solar farms, wind energy, battery storage).
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors, suppliers, and consultants.
• Oversee the permitting and regulatory approval process, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation.
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for potential new project locations.
• Mitigate project risks and resolve any issues that arise during the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; PMP certification is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years focused specifically on renewable energy projects .
• Demonstrated experience managing budgets exceeding £10 million.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies , contract negotiation, and risk management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiarity with UK planning and environmental regulations pertinent to energy projects.
