Research Fellow - Drug Discovery

About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative Research Fellow specializing in Drug Discovery to join their dynamic team in Cardiff . This role is central to identifying and validating new drug targets for a range of therapeutic areas. You will conduct preclinical research, employ sophisticated screening methodologies, and contribute to the development of small molecule or biologic therapeutics. Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute in vitro and in vivo studies to evaluate the efficacy and safety of potential drug candidates.

• Characterize drug mechanisms of action and pharmacokinetic profiles.
• Collaborate with medicinal chemists and pharmacologists to optimize lead compounds.
• Document experimental procedures and results, contributing to intellectual property and regulatory submissions.

Requirements

• PhD in Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in drug discovery, with a strong understanding of disease biology.
• Proficiency in common laboratory techniques relevant to drug discovery research.
• Experience with assay development and data analysis software.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team in Cardiff .
