About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Research Fellow to contribute to cutting-edge projects in Materials Science at their facility in Leeds . You will be instrumental in exploring novel material properties, synthesis techniques, and applications. This role requires a hands-on approach, working closely with a team of experienced researchers and engineers to develop innovative material solutions for diverse industries. The ideal candidate will possess a strong theoretical understanding coupled with practical laboratory skills, and a passion for advancing the boundaries of material science in a collaborative, research-intensive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct experimental research on the synthesis, characterization, and testing of novel materials.
- Utilize advanced analytical techniques and instrumentation to study material structures and properties.
- Collaborate with senior researchers to design and execute experimental plans.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data, documenting findings in detailed reports.
- Contribute to the preparation of research papers, patents, and presentations.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related engineering discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in materials synthesis and characterization techniques.
- Proficiency with analytical instruments such as SEM, TEM, XRD, and spectroscopy.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a research team in a laboratory setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and collaboration.
