About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Research Fellow with a strong background in Materials Science to join their innovative research team in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is integral to advancing novel material development projects, contributing to cutting-edge research and technological innovation. You will work collaboratively on a fixed-term contract, contributing to specific research goals, analyzing material properties, and documenting findings. This hybrid position offers the chance to engage in hands-on laboratory work and collaborative discussions while maintaining flexibility, supporting key advancements in materials technology and engineering within the Staffordshire region.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research experiments on new and existing materials, focusing on synthesis, characterization, and performance evaluation.
- Analyze material properties using techniques such as microscopy, spectroscopy, and mechanical testing.
- Document experimental procedures, results, and conclusions meticulously in research reports.
- Collaborate with senior researchers and engineers to achieve project objectives.
- Contribute to literature reviews and the preparation of research publications or presentations.
- Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Materials Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in laboratory research, particularly in materials characterization .
- Familiarity with common materials science research methodologies and equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a hybrid team .
