Research Scientist - Organic Chemistry

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Research Scientist with a strong background in Organic Chemistry to join their dynamic R&D team in Bradford . This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the synthesis of novel organic compounds for various applications, including pharmaceuticals and advanced materials. You will be involved in the entire lifecycle of compound development, from initial design and synthesis to purification and characterization, working within a collaborative and innovative laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Synthesize novel organic molecules using a variety of modern synthetic methodologies.
• Purify and characterize synthesized compounds using techniques such as NMR, Mass Spectrometry, and HPLC.
• Develop and optimize synthetic routes for target molecules, focusing on yield and purity.
• Collaborate with team members on research projects and share findings effectively.
• Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and contribute to technical reports.
• Ensure all laboratory activities comply with safety regulations and best practices.

Requirements

• PhD or Master's degree in Organic Chemistry or a closely related field.
• Proven experience in synthetic organic chemistry, including multi-step synthesis.
• Proficiency with common analytical techniques for compound characterization (NMR, MS, HPLC, GC).
• Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in an organic chemistry laboratory.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-based setting in Bradford .
