About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Resettlement Support Officer to join their team in Sheffield . This vital role focuses on assisting individuals, often those who have experienced homelessness or are transitioning from institutional settings, to successfully resettle into independent living. You will provide practical advice, emotional support, and guidance on accessing essential services, empowering clients to establish stable and secure housing. This is a community-focused role requiring direct engagement with clients and various support agencies to facilitate positive outcomes and long-term stability.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct needs assessments with clients to identify housing, financial, and social support requirements for resettlement.
• Develop and implement personalized resettlement plans, setting achievable goals and timelines.
• Assist clients in finding and securing suitable accommodation, liaising with housing providers and landlords.
• Provide practical support with budgeting, benefits applications, and setting up utilities and essential services.
• Offer emotional support and encouragement throughout the resettlement process, building confidence and independence.
• Liaise with other agencies, such as social services, employment support, and health providers, to ensure comprehensive client support.

Requirements

• Experience in a support role, preferably within homelessness, housing, or social care settings.
• Understanding of the challenges faced by individuals requiring resettlement support.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work with vulnerable individuals in a sensitive and empowering manner.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively.
• Must hold a valid UK driving license and have access to a vehicle for work purposes in the Sheffield area.
