About the Role
Our client is seeking a compassionate and organised Resettlement Support Officer to assist individuals and families transitioning into new housing in Nottingham . This role is crucial in helping clients establish stability and independence in their new environments, addressing practical, social, and emotional needs. You will provide tailored support, connecting clients with essential services such as employment, education, healthcare, and community integration initiatives. This role offers significant autonomy and the chance to empower vulnerable individuals to build secure and sustainable futures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide intensive support to clients during their resettlement period, ensuring a smooth transition into new accommodation.
- Develop individual support plans focused on achieving independence, including access to benefits, employment, and education.
- Assist clients with practical matters such as setting up utilities, understanding tenancy agreements, and accessing local services.
- Facilitate social inclusion and community integration by connecting clients with local groups and activities.
- Monitor client progress and well-being, addressing any emerging issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting on service effectiveness and client outcomes.
Requirements
- Experience in a support role , particularly with vulnerable populations such as homeless individuals, refugees, or those leaving care.
- Understanding of the challenges associated with resettlement and independent living.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build rapport and provide empathetic support.
- Proficiency in IT systems for case management and record-keeping.
- A proactive approach and ability to work independently.
