Resident Engineer - Civil Projects

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and experienced Resident Engineer to oversee the construction phase of various civil engineering projects, operating on a fully remote basis with site presence as required. This crucial role ensures that construction activities are executed in accordance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. You will act as the client's representative on-site, managing contractors and resolving technical issues to ensure project success. The ideal candidate will possess strong site experience, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple aspects of construction oversight remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all aspects of construction for civil engineering projects on-site.
• Ensure adherence to approved design drawings, specifications, and quality control procedures.
• Monitor site progress, identify potential delays or issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, progress photos, and material certifications.
• Act as the primary point of contact for contractors and respond to queries and requests for information.
• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on construction sites.

Requirements

• A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction supervision and site management.
• Thorough understanding of construction methods, materials, and quality assurance.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong leadership, communication, and dispute resolution skills.
• Ability to manage projects effectively and travel to sites as needed, while maintaining a remote base.
