Residential Architect

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and client-focused Residential Architect to join their established practice in Portsmouth . You will be responsible for leading the design and development of high-quality residential projects, from initial client consultations through to detailed construction drawings and site supervision. This role offers the chance to work on a variety of scales of residential architecture, including new builds, extensions, and renovations, working closely with clients to bring their visions to life. The position requires a strong understanding of residential design principles, building regulations, and a passion for creating beautiful and functional living spaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with clients to understand their needs and develop tailored architectural solutions for residential properties.
• Produce detailed architectural designs, drawings, and specifications for planning and building regulation approvals.
• Manage projects through all stages of the design and construction process.
• Conduct site surveys, feasibility studies, and technical assessments.
• Liaise with local planning authorities and building control bodies to ensure compliance.
• Supervise construction sites to ensure designs are implemented correctly and to a high standard.

Requirements

• Qualified Architect with ARB/RIBA registration or equivalent.
• Demonstrable experience in residential architecture, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD , Revit , and other relevant architectural design software.
• In-depth knowledge of UK planning policy and building regulations pertaining to residential development.
• Excellent client-facing and communication skills, with a strong ability to build rapport.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently within the Portsmouth area.
