Job Description
As a Residential Childcare Worker at Hartburn Lodge, you'll help provide short breaks for children and young people with complex needs, creating a safe, caring and positive environment where they can thrive.
No two days are the same. You might be helping a young person develop independence skills, supporting them with daily routines, encouraging participation in activities, or simply being a trusted and reassuring presence during their stay.
You’ll work as part of a friendly and supportive team, building meaningful relationships with children, young people and their families, while helping to create experiences that are enjoyable, memorable and enriching.
Most importantly, you’ll be a positive role model who helps young people feel valued, respected and empowered.
This is a part time role of 25 hours per week and the actual salary for the role is £19,959- £22,769.

What we want
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- A recognised Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or a willingness to achieve this within 18 months of appointment
- Experience of working with children and young people
- The ability to work across a 7-day rota, including weekends and sleepovers
- A commitment to delivering excellent care and support
- Enhanced DBS clearance
Don’t worry if you don’t already hold the Level 3 Diploma. We provide a structured training programme and the support you need to achieve the qualification while you work.
