Residential Support Worker - Adults with Learning Disabilities

About the Role

Our client is seeking dedicated Residential Support Workers to join their team in Liverpool , providing essential support to adults with learning disabilities within a residential setting. This hands-on role is focused on assisting residents in developing life skills, promoting independence, and ensuring their overall well-being and safety. You will work as part of a caring and professional team, dedicated to creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment where every resident can thrive and achieve their personal goals. Key Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, medication administration, and domestic tasks, whilst promoting their independence.
• Support residents in engaging in community activities, social outings, hobbies, and educational pursuits.
• Implement and follow individualised support plans, ensuring consistency of care and support across shifts.
• Observe and report on residents' well-being, behaviour, and progress, maintaining accurate and timely records.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment for all residents, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to provide a holistic approach to resident care and support.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a care or support role, ideally working with adults with learning disabilities.
• A compassionate nature, patience, and a genuine desire to support individuals to live fulfilling lives.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents and colleagues.
• Understanding of safeguarding principles and promoting dignity and respect for all individuals.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and potentially sleep-in duties.
• Relevant qualifications such as a Care Certificate or an NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care are beneficial.
