Residential Support Worker - Learning Disabilities

About the Role

Our client is looking for caring and committed Residential Support Workers to join their residential care facility in Cardiff , supporting individuals with learning disabilities. In this fulfilling role, you will play a crucial part in promoting independence, dignity, and well-being for residents, assisting them with daily living tasks and encouraging engagement in meaningful activities. Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care and support to residents according to their individual care plans.
• Assist residents with daily routines, including personal hygiene, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
• Encourage and support residents' participation in social, recreational, and educational activities.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided, observations, and any incidents.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
• Promote a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for all residents.

Requirements

• Previous experience in care, preferably supporting individuals with learning disabilities, is advantageous.
• Demonstrable empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training, including safeguarding and first aid.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in duties if required.
• Understanding of person-centred care principles and promoting independence.
