Residential Support Worker

Milton Keynes | £14.75 – £15.25 per hour | 40 hours per week

We are looking for a Residential Support Worker to join a supportive team within a children's residential home in Milton Keynes.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and young people and wants to make a genuine difference to their day-to-day lives, wellbeing and development.

The Role

You will support children and young people with their daily routines, emotional wellbeing, education, activities and personal development, helping to create a safe, stable and nurturing home environment.

You will also:

• Build positive and trusting relationships with young people.

• Support care plans, routines, activities and independence.

• Provide emotional and practical support.

• Support with personal care and medication where required.

• Promote positive behaviour and use agreed strategies.

• Complete records, reports and handovers.

• Work with families, social workers, schools and other professionals.

• Act as a Key Worker where required.

• Work as part of a rota including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.

About You

We are looking for someone who is caring, patient, resilient and reliable, with a genuine interest in supporting children and young people.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience working with children or young people, preferably within children's residential care.

• A relevant Level 3 qualification, or willingness to work towards one.

• An understanding of safeguarding and child protection.

• Experience supporting emotional or behavioural needs would be beneficial.

• Good communication and record-keeping skills.

• The ability to stay calm and professional in challenging situations.

• A full UK driving licence.
