Residential Support Worker

About the Role

Our client is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Worker to join their team in Cardiff . You will be instrumental in providing a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for individuals who rely on our client's services. Working within a residential setting, you will engage directly with residents, support their daily routines, and contribute to creating a positive and inclusive community atmosphere. Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care and support to residents, respecting their privacy and dignity at all times.
• Assist residents with daily living activities, including meal preparation, hygiene, and domestic tasks.
• Monitor residents' well-being, reporting any changes in their condition or behaviour to the relevant supervisor.
• Encourage and support residents in participating in social, recreational, and therapeutic activities.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided, observations made, and any incidents that occur.
• Ensure the residential environment is safe, clean, and welcoming for all residents.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a care or support role, preferably within a residential setting.
• Good understanding of safeguarding principles and person-centred care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents.
• Patience, empathy, and a non-judgmental attitude.
• Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and occasional sleep-in duties.
• A commitment to achieving relevant qualifications, such as NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
