Residential Support Worker

About the Role

Our client is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Residential Support Workers to join their team in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is based within a residential setting, providing crucial support to individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs. You will assist residents in developing their life skills, promoting independence, and ensuring their well-being and safety. This is a hands-on role that requires compassion, patience, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care within a supportive and professional environment in Stoke-on-Trent .

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care and support to residents, assisting with daily living activities including dressing, hygiene, and meal times.
• Encourage and support residents in participating in social, recreational, and educational activities.
• Support residents in managing their health needs, including administering medication as prescribed and monitoring well-being.
• Maintain clear, accurate, and concise records of care provided, incidents, and observations.
• Work collaboratively with the care team, families, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to resident care.

Requirements

• Experience in a care or support role, preferably with individuals with learning disabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic approach.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow care plans precisely.
• Understanding of safeguarding vulnerable adults and maintaining confidentiality.
• Willingness to undertake training, including NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care.
