Residential Support Worker

About the Role

Our client is seeking motivated Residential Support Workers to join their team in Sunderland , providing essential care and support to individuals in a residential setting. This role is focused on enabling service users to lead fulfilling and independent lives by offering personalized assistance and promoting their well-being. You will work closely with residents who may have various needs, including learning disabilities, mental health challenges, or age-related conditions, ensuring they receive compassionate and professional care. This position offers a chance to build meaningful relationships and contribute directly to community support services.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist service users with daily living tasks, including personal care, hygiene, and domestic chores, respecting their privacy and dignity.
• Support individuals in developing life skills and achieving personal goals through tailored care plans.
• Administer prescribed medications accurately and in accordance with established protocols.
• Encourage and facilitate social interaction, community integration, and participation in activities.
• Monitor and record service users' progress, well-being, and any significant changes, reporting to senior staff.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive living environment within the residential home in Sunderland .

Requirements

• Experience in a support worker or similar care role is preferred.
• A strong understanding of person-centred care principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with empathy and patience.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage workload effectively.
• Willingness to undertake further training and qualifications, such as an NVQ in Health and Social Care.
• Must be reliable, adaptable, and committed to providing high-quality care.
