About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and organized Retail Stock Controller to manage inventory effectively for their store in Reading . This role is vital for ensuring accurate stock levels, minimizing shrinkage, and optimizing stock flow to meet customer demand and sales targets. You will be responsible for all aspects of stock management, from receiving goods to conducting regular stock takes and analyzing inventory data. This position is ideal for an individual with a keen eye for detail and a methodical approach, looking to play a critical role in the operational success of a retail business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory records using the company's stock management system.
- Oversee the receiving, unpacking, and dispatching of goods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct regular stock takes and cycle counts to identify discrepancies and investigate variances.
- Implement and enforce stock control procedures to minimize loss and shrinkage.
- Collaborate with the retail team to ensure adequate stock levels for sales and promotions.
- Analyze stock data to identify trends, slow-moving items, and potential stockout risks.
Requirements
- Previous experience in stock control, inventory management, or a similar logistics role within retail.
- Proficiency in using stock management software and POS systems .
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with stock handling, such as lifting and moving boxes.
- Good communication skills for liaising with suppliers and internal teams.
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving stock-related issues in Reading .
