About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and organized Retail Stock Controller to manage inventory effectively at their Norwich store. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate stock levels, overseeing stock movements, and implementing efficient inventory management processes. This role is critical in minimizing stock discrepancies, preventing loss, and ensuring that products are available to meet customer demand. If you have a strong aptitude for numbers, keen attention to detail, and experience in inventory management, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the operational success of the retail team.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing stock, ensuring data integrity in the inventory system.
- Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile any discrepancies, investigating the root causes.
- Oversee the receiving and dispatch of goods, ensuring proper documentation and quality checks.
- Implement and adhere to stock control procedures to minimize shrinkage and waste.
- Monitor stock levels and report on inventory status to management, highlighting potential shortages or overstock situations.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to manage stock effectively and efficiently.
Requirements
- Previous experience in stock control, inventory management, or a similar role within retail.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
