Retail Stock Controller

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and proactive Retail Stock Controller to manage inventory efficiently for their store in Edinburgh . This role is vital for maintaining accurate stock levels, minimizing discrepancies, and ensuring that products are available to meet customer demand. You will be responsible for all aspects of stock management, from receiving goods to conducting regular audits. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail and a systematic approach to inventory management in a busy retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the receiving, unpacking, and accurate logging of all incoming stock.
• Conduct regular stock counts and audits to ensure inventory accuracy across all categories.
• Investigate and resolve any stock discrepancies identified during audits.
• Manage stock movement between the stockroom and the shop floor, ensuring efficient replenishment.
• Maintain the stockroom in an organized and safe manner.
• Liaise with the buying and merchandising teams regarding stock levels and reordering needs.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a stock control, inventory management, or warehouse role, preferably within retail.
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles and procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data recording and analysis.
• Proficiency with stock management software and systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
• Physical ability to lift and move stock as required.
