RIBA Part II Architectural Assistant

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a talented and enthusiastic RIBA Part II Architectural Assistant to join their vibrant design studio in Portsmouth . This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for an individual passionate about architecture and eager to gain practical experience within a professional practice. You will support the architectural team in all stages of project development, from initial concept design and planning applications through to technical detailing and site support. Working on a variety of exciting projects, you will have the chance to develop your skills under the guidance of experienced professionals and contribute to innovative design solutions in the South Coast region.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist architects in developing design concepts and producing architectural drawings using CAD software.
• Prepare documentation for planning applications and Building Regulations submissions.
• Conduct site visits to gather information and assist with site monitoring.
• Create 3D models and visualisations to help communicate design ideas.
• Support the team with research on materials, products, and construction techniques.
• Maintain project files and ensure organised record-keeping.

Requirements

• Completion of RIBA Part II or equivalent architectural qualification.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is essential; knowledge of SketchUp or other 3D modelling software is beneficial.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating design ability and technical understanding.
• Good understanding of architectural principles and UK planning and building regulations.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A proactive attitude and a strong desire to learn and grow within the profession.
