Job Description
We are recruiting for a Senior Risk Consultant to join our growing team across our UK offices. As a Senior Risk Consultant, you will be responsible for implementing and advising on Risk Management solutions for AECOM’s major infrastructure projects across a broad range of sectors.
Working as part of the AECOM Integrated Programme Controls team, you will be comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and customers. You will work closely with internal, client and sub‑contractor staff to develop an accurate understanding of risk exposure, implement appropriate governance and support effective decision making.
You will be part of an established team of risk professionals supporting various capital projects across the UK with opportunities to support AECOM’s vast number of projects and programmes globally.
Responsibilities
- Engage with project teams to ensure effective implementation of risk management.
- Provide risk management input to bids and proposals to secure new business.
- Perform risk assurance checks to ensure quality of project and programme risk management.
- Communicate key project and programme risk management data to senior leaders.
- Produce comprehensive risk reports for informed decision.
- Coach and mentor staff in risk management best practice.
- Facilitate identification, assessment and prioritisation of risks.
- Develop robust Risk Registers, Risk Management Plans, and Risk Mitigation Plans.
- Conduct Quantitative Risk Analysis (QCRA and QSRA), utilising techniques such as Monte‑Carlo to establish project contingency levels.
- Design and implement risk management frameworks for projects and programmes.
- Support cost, scheduling, project controls and change management teams where appropriate.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in risk management, with at least 2 years on high‑value projects.
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university or a recognised risk management qualification (MOR, APM Risk, IRM).
- Proven experience and excellent knowledge in a multi‑discipline project environment.
- Proficient in Industry Risk Management tools (ARM, Xactium, RiskHive, Predict, etc.).
- Demonstrable experience conducting Quantitative Risk Analysis (QCRA & QSRA) using tools such as Safran, Primavera Risk Analyzer, @Risk.
- Competency in implementing Risk Management processes aligned with ISO31000 and other professional methodologies.
- Flexibility to travel and work in different sectors.
- Strong people management and task facilitation skills.
- Knowledge of engineering and construction management.
