About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and diligent Risk Management Officer to join their established financial institution in Leeds . This role is crucial for identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks across the organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and safeguarding the company's assets and reputation. You will be responsible for developing and implementing risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures. The successful candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of risk principles within the banking and finance sector , and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to foster a strong risk-aware culture in our Leeds -based operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and assess operational, financial, and strategic risks across the business.
- Develop, implement, and monitor risk management policies, procedures, and frameworks.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and stress testing to evaluate the company's resilience to various scenarios.
- Prepare risk reports for senior management and regulatory bodies, highlighting key risk exposures and mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with internal audit and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and best practices.
- Develop and deliver risk management training programs to staff across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in risk management, compliance, or internal audit, preferably in the financial services industry .
- Solid understanding of risk assessment methodologies, regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel accords), and financial markets.
- Proficiency in risk management software and advanced analytical tools.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to analyze complex information and provide clear, concise recommendations.
