About the Role
Our client is seeking a creative and technically proficient Robotics Engineer to join their innovative team in Plymouth, Devon, UK , working within a hybrid model. This role is integral to the development and implementation of advanced robotic systems, combining hardware and software expertise to create intelligent autonomous agents. You will work on cutting-edge projects within the AI & Emerging Technologies space, contributing to solutions that push the boundaries of what's possible in automation and intelligent systems, with a blend of collaborative office time and remote flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and test robotic systems, including mechanical, electrical, and control aspects.
- Develop and implement control algorithms, path planning, and motion control systems.
- Integrate sensors, actuators, and other hardware components into robotic platforms.
- Write software for robot operation, simulation, and data analysis using languages like C++ and Python.
- Collaborate with AI/ML teams to imbue robots with intelligent capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Robotics.
- Proven experience in robotics development, including hands-on experience with robot hardware.
- Proficiency in C++ and/or Python, and experience with robotics middleware like ROS.
- Strong understanding of control theory, kinematics, dynamics, and sensor fusion.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting, contributing to projects based in Plymouth .
