About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Rotating Equipment Engineer to join their team in Bristol . This role is vital for the specification, design, procurement, and technical support of critical rotating machinery such as pumps, compressors, turbines, and mixers. You will be involved in projects across various industries, ensuring the selection and application of equipment meet stringent performance, reliability, and safety requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Specify, select, and procure rotating equipment for various industrial applications.
- Review vendor proposals, technical data, and performance guarantees for rotating machinery.
- Provide technical support during the installation, commissioning, and start-up phases of equipment.
- Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and develop mitigation strategies to improve reliability.
- Develop and maintain technical standards, procedures, and best practices for rotating equipment.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure optimal operational performance and predictive maintenance strategies.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience focused on rotating machinery in sectors such as oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, or manufacturing.
- In-depth knowledge of various types of pumps, compressors, turbines, and related systems.
- Familiarity with API standards (e.g., API 610, API 617) and other relevant industry codes.
- Experience with troubleshooting, failure analysis, and reliability engineering principles.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with vendors and internal stakeholders.
