About the Role
Our client, a leading provider of industrial solutions and services, is seeking a dedicated Rotating Equipment Engineer to bolster their team in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is critical for the selection, specification, installation, and maintenance of vital rotating machinery such as pumps, compressors, turbines, and motors across various industrial applications. You will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of this critical equipment, minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency. Working within a team of experienced engineers, you'll contribute to major projects and ongoing operational support, upholding the company's reputation for technical excellence and reliability in the manufacturing heartland.
Key Responsibilities
- Specify, select, and procure rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, fans, and turbines, based on process requirements.
- Develop and oversee installation, commissioning, and start-up procedures for new and refurbished equipment.
- Conduct performance testing, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for equipment failures.
- Develop and implement predictive and preventive maintenance strategies to ensure optimal equipment reliability and longevity.
- Review and approve vendor technical documentation, drawings, and performance test results.
- Provide technical expertise and support to operations, maintenance, and project teams regarding rotating machinery.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience specifically with rotating equipment in an industrial setting (e.g., chemical, petrochemical, power generation).
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and mechanical vibrations as applied to rotating machinery.
- Familiarity with international standards (e.g., API, ISO) relevant to pumps, compressors, and turbines.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, P&IDs, and equipment drawings.
