About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and versatile Rural Estate Manager to oversee a significant private estate in the Reading area. This comprehensive role requires a blend of agricultural knowledge, property management skills, and strong leadership abilities to ensure the efficient and sustainable operation of the estate. You will be responsible for managing various aspects including agricultural land, woodlands, property maintenance, and potentially let properties, while liaising with tenants, contractors, and stakeholders. This is a challenging yet rewarding position for a seasoned professional looking to manage a diverse and expansive rural property in Berkshire .
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the effective management of agricultural land, woodlands, and property assets.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, including farming activities, forestry, maintenance, and repair projects.
- Manage budgets, control expenditure, and ensure profitability and sustainability of estate operations.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of estate staff, contractors, and external service providers.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including health and safety, environmental, and land management regulations.
- Liaise with tenants, stakeholders, and local authorities to foster positive relationships.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in rural estate management, farm management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of agricultural practices, forestry, property maintenance, and contract management.
- Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and reporting.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Relevant qualifications in Agriculture, Estate Management, Surveying, or a related discipline.
