An exciting opportunity has arisen within the London Safety Intervention (SI) team. We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and innovative Safety Intervention trainer at Agenda for Change band 5. Train the trainer training will be provided to the successful candidate
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead on continuous development and improvement of SI training and to assist clinical teams in providing high quality care to service users in a least restrictive manner.
Main Duties
- ·To support adequate programmes of SI courses so as to meet the requirements identified in the Trusts Risk Management and Training Needs Analysis
- ·To assist in maintaining an up-to-date database of staff attendance on SI courses.
- ·Organise and facilitate a range of SI courses, safely and effectively in line with Health & Safety legislation, Trust values and RRN Training Standards.
- ·Work with others to staff following incidents, including debriefing and critical incident analysis, when requested.
- ·Attend meetings, compile reports, and provide verbal feedback as required on issues within areas of responsibility as directed by SI lead trainer or Matron for Restrictive Practice.
- ·To be involved in continual professional development to ensure courses and skills reflect best practice and meet Trust and legal obligations.
- 2.To be professional and act as a positive role model at all times whilst working with other trainers, course delegates and other disciplines/ departments in line with Trust Policies and BILD Restraint Reduction Training Standards
- 3.To support an adequate programme of SI courses to meet the requirements as identified in the Trusts Risk Management and Training Needs Analysis
- 4.To assist the lead SI trainer in developing joint training initiatives with other organisations as appropriate if required.
- 5.To assist in maintaining an up to date database of staff attendance on Trust statutory courses.
- 6.To be involved/ contribute in the launching, promotion and implementation of the Trust policy on the management of violence and aggression.
The Safety Intervention team
This is a vibrant team covering London, Luton and Bedford areas in providing a variety of non-restrictive and restrictive intervention training programmes to staff working in different client group services. The team's aim is to provide quality participatory training that is respectful and responses to clinical area needs.
