We've just brought in our Head of Retail and we're building something. The Soho flagship is the reference point for what Troubadour retail looks and feels like - and the foundation for what comes next. Big goals. New stores. New cities. A retail team that sets the standard.
This is the role you start that journey in. You'll be on the shop floor, representing a brand worth representing, learning the product inside out, and delivering the kind of experience that turns a first-time customer into a long-term brand lover.
If you take pride in working for a purpose‑led brand and you want to be part of something that’s growing, we'd love to talk.
What You’ll Do
Customer Experience & Selling
- Represent the brand with authority and warmth at every stage of the customer journey.
- Master the Troubadour story - the materials, engineering and design thinking behind every piece - and tell it credibly.
- Advise customers based on genuine need.
- Build relationships that last beyond the transaction.
- Meet and exceed individual and store performance targets.
Standards & Operations
- Uphold visual merchandising and presentation standards at all times.
- Handle sales, returns, and transactions with precision.
- Support store operations including deliveries, stock counts, transfers, and replenishment.
- Flag issues early and bring solutions with them.
Brand & Team
- Act as the voice of the customer, feeding product and service insight back to the team so we can continue to evolve.
- Follow briefs and standards carefully. Apply feedback quickly and constructively.
- Work with the team to build a store environment worth being proud of.
Who You Are
- You're genuinely curious about how things are made. You care about materials, craft, and design and that curiosity comes through when you talk about the product.
- You take pride in your environment. The details other people walk past, you notice.
- You have energy. The shop floor asks a lot and you give it willingly.
- You have experience in premium or lifestyle retail or a strong case for why you belong in it.
- A confident communicator who can carry a brand story.
- You're a natural relationship-builder. People feel well looked after around you.
- Self‑motivated, commercially sharp, and target-driven.
- Exceptional attention to detail and high personal standards.
- Flexible to work weekends, bank holidays, and peak trading periods.
- Collaborative, proactive, and at your best when the pace picks up.
Why Troubadour
We’ve grown fourteen times bigger in the last five years. The next phase is bigger still, and everyone we hire has a hand in shaping it.
We’re a small team. Curious. Hands‑on. We care about doing things well, and about the people doing them. High standards without high drama. We disagree out loud. We back each other up. The people who thrive here treat the work seriously and themselves a little less so.
Our headquarters is in Fitzrovia, London, alongside our store in Soho. The rest of the team works remotely, and we get together whenever we can. We look after our people properly. The basics and more.
