About the Role
We are seeking an experienced SAS Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide deep technical leadership and consultancy throughout the Discovery, Alpha, and Beta phases of a major cloud migration programme.
You will be responsible for ensuring that SAS analytics workloads, processes, and data assets are successfully re-platformed onto a cloud-based data platform while maintaining data integrity, operational continuity, and business confidence.
Working closely with architects, data engineers, and delivery teams, you will define migration strategies, validate solutions, guide implementation activities, and ensure knowledge is successfully transferred to operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert guidance on SAS architecture, data flows, platform design, and cloud re-platforming approaches.
Define and assure the SAS migration, validation, and reconciliation strategy alongside data engineering and architecture teams.
Support the development of High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), technical documentation, and knowledge articles.
Ensure SAS data integrity throughout migration, testing, validation, and dual-running activities.
Mentor and support SAS Engineers and implementation teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Skills We Can't Do Without
Extensive experience as a SAS Subject Matter Expert , including SAS architecture, administration, and analytics platforms.
Strong understanding of ETL processes, data integration, and data flow architecture .
Proven experience leading data migration, reconciliation, and validation activities .
Experience supporting cloud migration or re-platforming initiatives involving analytics and reporting workloads.
Skills We'd Like
Experience working with cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
Knowledge of modern data engineering practices, data warehousing, and enterprise analytics environments.
Additional Requirements
Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain SC Clearance .
- Location: Hybrid , with onsite attendance required 3 days per week at one of the following locations: Newcastle, Manchester, Blackpool.
